Excited about recruitment? But what even happens? Lets talk Xi... From learning about philanthropies to running home on bid day, recruitment week is plenty eventful to say the least! I know when I went through recruitment, I had no idea what to expect, what to wear, or what was going on! This post is here to help you figure out what you're getting into during this wonderful week of Greek women.  Philanthropy Day Remember a few blogs ago when we talked about what philanthropy was? This is when that comes in handy! This is the day where every sorority tells you about their amazing philanthropy! Get to know their philanthropy because once you find your home, it will become part of your college experience. Since this is the first full day of recruitment, this is your chance to get to know these women and form connections with them, too! Remember to be yourself always to make genuine connections. Sisterhood and Values Day This is a day where you have to

"A sisterhood so true. A place for everybody." What do you want in a sisterhood? Lets talk Xi... Every sorority has a unique sisterhood! And sisterhood is different to every sister. Throughout the summer we will be spotlighting sisters so they can share what sisterhood means to them! For now we will stick to sisterhood fun that we have in our chapter! Throughout the year we have little events to hangout together because sometimes school gets to be a lot and we need some sister time to de-stress.  Pajamas and pancakes was a personal favorite of mine. We had a great time eating pancakes and fruit in our pajamas! We ended the night by watching a movie and of course we had to have a photo op! We learned some killer self defense moves at chapter one night! There are always fun mixers to go to throughout the school year, too. Philanthropy? What is that? I'm glad you asked! Let's talk Xi... The way I view philanthropy is giving back to an organization to better the lives of others. (Websters Dictionary goes into a different wordy definition.) Every sorority has a philanthropy that they raise money and awareness for! Alpha Xi Delta's philanthropy is Autism Speaks, and boy do we have a lot to talk about! We are working to promote understanding and acceptance of autism and raise funds by holding AmaXIng Challenges each year. Our chapter hosts a color run during the fall semester every year.
