Let's talk Xi... with Shiann Weaver! Xi Lady Spotlight Shiann Weaver is our next Xi Lady Spotlight with our blog! Shiann is our Assistant New Member Orientation Director. We asked Shiann some questions about her position and recruitment expectations! What do you do as Assistant New Member Orientation Director? The main objective of my position is to teach new members all about Alpha Xi Delta and our history. I think it’s really important because without our history there would be no real connection with an organization. Along the way I plan activities to do with the new members and I try to make the transition from high school to college easier for the women. The best part of my position though is big little pairs. I am in charge of helping these women find mentors and friends in Alpha Xi Delta that will last a lifetime. What are you most excited for this recruitment? I am so excited for this recruitment because it will be my first time on the sister side! I

Xi to Me: Jaci Byars

Xi to Me: Jaci Byars Let's talk Xi... What was most memorable to you when you went through recruitment? Running home to my sisters on bid day!!  Why did you choose Alpha Xi Delta? I chose Alpha Xi Delta because I felt I could honestly be myself - my true crazy blonde self!! Without having to act like anyone different. I felt at home and very welcomed by all the sisters, and now I have a love forever and always for Alpha Xi!!  What advice can you give a woman coming through recruitment? Be yourself!! There will be so much going on during the week, but as long as you be yourself and stick with it you’ll find your home! Trust me!!!  We are so thankful to have such a wonderful sister like Jaci! Keep shining, sis.  Until next time... XoXi

Xi to Me: Tegan Singleton

Xi to Me: Tegan Singleton Let's talk Xi... What was most memorable to you when you went through recruitment? Bid day, the overwhelming love and joy from that day are something I will never forget and I wish I could relive over and over again. Why did you choose Alpha Xi Delta? For the love and acceptance that I felt. These girls made me feel comfortable and allowed me to be who I was even though I just met them. This sorority stood out to me because everyone was so different and brought so many things to the table.  What advice can you give a PNM coming through? Be open minded. Go where YOU feel most comfortable. Don’t join a sorority just because your friend likes them or even if you already have friends in it. You need to go where you feel most at home.  Tegan is such a blessing to our chapter. Keep shining, sis! Until next time... XoXi

Bid Day Best Day!

Bid Day. Best Day! Let's talk Xi... Bid day is a day you'll never forget! This is the day you've been waiting all week to get to! At Jacksonville State, Bid Day is the Sunday after recruitment starts. You have made it from philanthropy day to sisterhood and values to preference, so now it is time to see where you will run home to! You're recruitment counselors will go through what to wear that morning before you run home. Usually girls will wear a sports bra or tank top (this is so you can change into your bid day shirt that your new sisters have sent to you!) and denim or running shorts. Whatever you are comfortable wearing. Also make sure you wear some good shoes to run in! Converse or Chacos are always a good way to go, but if you can run in those cute sandals then rock it, sis! Once you get there you'll sit down and wait for that envelope to come to you. Your recruitment counselor will more than likely give it to you about 20 minutes
